2022--Constructing our garden beds

2022 was a year of shoe-string budgets. Trying to save up for a house was first and foremost on our minds. However, as our plants grew from 1" to 4" to 1 Gallon containers, time pressed for us to build a long term solution for growing.

Enter the easiest raised bed garden solution--the utilitarian cement block configuration. Cheap and easy to secure with rebar at the corners for support, we found these affordable building materials to a great fit.

Perhaps more importantly, we have long realized that exceptional garden soil with a good mix of small chippy mulches and rich loamy soil, fluffed with a good perlite and amended mycorrhizal fungi fertilizer is the ticket to growing healthy, hearty plants. Investing in soil over anything else is crucial to a good growing game!
