Laurel Urban Farms’ Memphis-Style Coleslaw

We love simple coleslaw. Recently we found a Memphis style recipe that we love with our hot sauce. Sweet and Tangy Southern Style Coleslaw is nicely balanced with just enough tang from the vinegar, unexpected heat from the hot sauce and a touch of sweetness from the sugar.
INGREDIENTS:
1 cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons dijon mustard
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon Laurel Urban Farms Hot Sauce of your choosing
3 tablespoons sugar
3/4 teaspoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon onion powder or 1 tablespoon finely grated onion
2 teaspoons celery seeds
1 x 16 ounce bag of tri-color style coleslaw mix or make your own with red cabbage, green cabbage, and carrots
DIRECTIONS:
In a large bowl, stir together the mayonnaise, mustard, vinegar, sugar, salt, onion powder, and celery seeds. Add the shredded cabbage and toss until well coated. Refrigerate for an hour before serving and up to 2 days. Toss again right before serving. For added color and flavor, top with a tiny amount of green onion or finely chopped parsley. Enjoy!
